STORYLINE:
By choosing not to use the traditional DJ tools such as turntables or CD decks I-D-E-N-T-I-F-Y re-defines the concept of conventional DJing using the latest computer hardware/software technology along with real instruments, guest vocalists and other performers. While being on the cutting edge of electronic music, they are able to retain the essential improvised energy of jazz.
DJ Dimitri from Moscow began filtering the forbidden radio signals from the world outside of U.S.S.R at the age of 10. These radio waves brought him and his big saxophone sound to New York where he set the jazz scene on fire. He played in the bands of Wynton Marsalis, Al Grey, Benny Waters, and Clark Terry, from 52nd Street to the Village Vanguard, as well as with his own band at the world famous Newport Jazz Festival.
On a tour in Brazil, DJ Dimitri met legendary west coast Canadian electro producer/multi-instrumentalist Antonio, and I-D-E-N-T-I-F-Y was born out of the explosion of Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. Their collaboration led to the production of dozens of fresh-sounding tracks. In particular, the award-winning track Once You Go - You Go! (as selected in a French electronic music competition) has opened the door for international tours in North America and Europe.
Upon seeing the futuristic rhythmic wizardry of Mr. Joe Poole (A.K.A Dangerous Robot) drumming at a festival, it became apparent that he was a must-have for the band.
January 22nd, 2003, marked a new beginning for I-D-E-N-T-I-F-Y through a stellar showcase at the Midem International Music Market in Cannes, France.
