Went and checked out the Monty Alexander trio last night at Jazz Alley in Seattle....sounded great!!...I'm a longtime fan of Monty's playing and he's been a key influence for me....was great to see him still swingin hard, and his trio sounded great---George Fludas on drums and Lorin Cohen on bass.....Cohen and Fludas did a great job of jumping on whatever Monty played...
Just to let everyone know, my new debut trio release entitled In Between Moods (with Joe Poole on drums and Russ Botten on bass) is available for purchase on my homepage: www.TonyFosterMusic.com .....you can buy either the entire album securely with a credit card or paypal account, OR you can choose to download the complete MP3 album OR individual MP3 tracks...it's available first, exclusively on the homepage! Thanks to all the great feedback and comments I've been getting about the album...they're much appeciated!
OK, so, as a follow up to my last page about my new fan / artist page on Facebook, I have assigned a short/easy to remember name for the page now...this didn't seem possible until I found a facebook application called "Memorable web addresses for facebook profile/band pages"...it's cool...and I didn't assign a "band" domain...instead it's an "artist" domain...you just type http://artist.to/tonyfoster and you end up at my fan page on facebook! Cool, eh?
so, I just realized there's now a facebook fan page which you can set up for people who aren't necessarily signed up with facebook (usually you need to log in to see anyone's profile...so, got mine set up...yet another place to keep track of upcoming gigs and stuff as an alternative to tonyfostermusic.com!
Getting a site going for my new ambient music project called organiksounds . The first release is also available as a digital download, either as individual tracks or an entire album-- the best deal is of course to buy the whole album! :)......if you're wondering what kind of stuff this is? I guess it's a genre of electronic music....some stuff I was working on when I've been over in the south of France (thus the French titles)....so, the debut release is called "Le Son Du Printemps"---translated as "the sound of spring"....been getting lots of positive feedback from electronic music freaks...check it out!....will also be available through Itunes, Amazon and all other major music e-tailers very shortly!
Just discovering this thing called Squidoo! Yet another way to maintain a strong web presence. Here's my new squidoo lens:
Here's an interview made from my last trip to Torino Italy! Check it out!
Just flew back to Seattle from Taipei and Tokyo!!....wow, all I can say is: TOO MANY PEOPLE!.....some of the areas of Tokyo are just insane---Shibuya and Shinjuku to name a couple....had a blast visiting friends in Taiwan and Tokyo....made some new contacts with cool musicians in Tokyo!...Hope to return in the future for some concerts/collaborations!
Pictured here is the Chateau just above the famous Promenade Des Anglais in Nice......the only complaint from most people about the beach in Nice is the lack of sand!....it's actually large round stones....not the most comfortable on your back! :(
Just returned from the south of France.......hard to believe a few days ago I was lying on the beach in Nice!....back to reality in Vancouver----clouds, cool temperatures, and of course----RAIN RAIN RAIN!! :(
